Apply to aggieTEACH-Arts & Science

Students interested in joining aggieTEACH-Arts & Sciences must meet certain prerequisites and submit an application.

Prerequisites

Students must meet the minimum requirements  below to be considered for the program.

  1. Grades in 1st year courses for area of certification must average to B or better.
  2. Overall GPR of 2.75 or higher.
  3. GPR of 2.5 in content area for certification.
  4. ARSC 201 (formerly SCEN 201) final course grade of B or better.
  5. 15 hrs of coursework in content area for certification area. (12 hrs required for ELAR 7-12 and History 7-12 certification seekers)
  6. Minimum of three semesters remaining as an undergraduate student with the capacity to incorporate 18 hr education minor and content courses for certification.

Application & Statement

Students must complete two rounds of applications. All fields within each application must be completed. One of the fields includes a statement of purpose. Prepare a document with a minimum of 250 words that can be uploaded into the application that addresses the following:

  1. Why have you chosen to pursue certification?

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Approved first-round applications will receive instructions for the second round application.

Application Deadlines

December 5th – deadline for spring admissions
May 15th – deadline for fall admissions
