aggieTEACH-Arts & Sciences is part of a network of colleges and programs in the Texas A&M System that offer pathways (see below) to teacher certification for non-education majors. Explore aggieTEACH-Arts & Sciences, a program for undergraduate students in majors that require at least 24 hours (half at upper level) of mathematics, science, social studies, or English courses and who are interested in teaching at the middle or high school.

The College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) are partners in teacher preparation. With the support of CEHD, we offer two pathways for non-education majors to seek a secondary teacher certification through Texas A&M University to become a teacher candidate. aggieTEACH-Arts & Sciences is under the umbrella of aggieTEACH, as Pathway 1. It is the perfect option for undergraduates in the College of Arts & Sciences with three or more semesters remaining. For students near graduation (two semesters or less remaining), consider applying to Pathway 2 to earn your teaching certificate.
